Let me tell you about 76. my mother had the wrath of the neighbourhood on her because, she allowed black people to stay on the proprety so they could be close to work and because I used to play with their kids they neighbours cause havoc in our lives. I was raised to respect elders, no matter the colour of their skin.

In 76 I intervened when I saw white teenagers attacking the black people that I knew, simply cos they were listening to their transistor radio on the pavement in the sunshine. The black people tried to stop me. I said that is not right for youngster to treat you like that, That was the day I was taught about passive Resistance.

In 83 I was a new employee in a financial institution working with black south africans. Election time was coming up. My colleagues came to quiz me: "Lucille are you registered to vote?" No, what is the use, there is no one to vote for any how. "Lucille, you MUST vote, you are turning 18 soon and must register" No I am not voting I am not patriot to this Lucille do you know how many people woudl love to vote but cannot" But everyone can vote "No Lucille only white people can vote" That was the day I learned that not all South African can vote. In all my life I have only missed one elcection, that was in 1994 when I was in Austria.

When I read Long walk to FREEDOM it gave me insight into the other side. I knew SA from the point of view of how I lived. But Nelson Mandela's book gave me a bigger picture.
We were ALL indoctrinated. We all fell into separation. We all lost our oneness within God. But it is in the past, we took our power back and are FREE. They so called coloureds and indians were also fed garbage about the other groups.
