An open dialogue between myself and my FB friend THABO
With thanks to Thabo for opening the dialogue
THABO:The Caster Semenya saga just proves that most white people see blacks as inferior.Until such time we robustly discuss racism with no holds barred there will never be progress when implementating gender equality, affirmative action, anti-racism and bla...ck empowerment policies worldwide. we are living in a fake world. nxa, sies!!!
THABO:the DA has been quiet and yes the white run gender institutions have been quiet too, guess they are waiting for Julius Malema to say something then get all loud.
THABO:the human rights commission of south africa has been quiet too. yes i said it!!
LUCILLE:No dude, dunno how old you are but do you remember a sporting phenom called Martina Navratilova and what happened to her, what the world wide commentary was. Well she focused on her sport and today is a legend.
ps. in Africa we do not look after our athletes, that is our fault
pps what matters is how the black people in SA view THEMSELVES! Know that you are free and take your freedom up.
LUCILLE:Ask the athletes of ANY COLOUR what happened to them in China (Olympics) Rather ask what is the sports ministry doing, why they did not react months back before Caster ran that beauty of a race, they were aware and did not manage the situation. Exactly how does sexism translate into racism????????
THABO:its very easy to say that black people need to take their freedom up when the world does not constantly remind you that you dont fit a certain profile or qualify to be in certain events because of the colour of your skin. there is still economic freedom that still needs to be discussed thoroughly.
THABO:the fundamental issue here is racial inequality that still exists out there. the IAAF should have showed wisdom in this regard and the poor girl was clearly not protected, thus proving how biased and uncouth its leaders are. again i repeat... the issue i want us to discuss is racial inequality and the effects it has on human tolerance.
THABO:@ Lucille. sexism becomes racism when one specific black girl is humilialed in a global sporting event that clearly has so many females who fit the male profil, only one is subjected to gender testing.
LUCILLE:Thabo name the other female athletes with so called male profiles. I am in support of Caster. I love it when South Africans stand up as WINNERS. She has clearly worked hard at her sport over the years. I wonder if the net will go that far back for you to research the hell Martina Navratilova went through and no one played the race card there. Who are these oppressive whites you refer to?? I simply do not see it. So help me see what you see Thabo
